One frame of something unrelated

 I've been working every weekend and haven't gotten any illustrations done, but just to tide you over here is one in an experimental style I made for my own amusement yesterday.  

I've always found something about cartoon illustrations stimulates the erotic imagination and have wanted to develop a more cartoonish type of image, I've posted various attempts over the years.

This experiment works for simpler shapes but I'm still working on how to represent faces or complex scenes like rooms with people, furniture etc.-very time consuming for complex things.

In this case at least it works nicely at both small and larger sizes. which I like.

I'm not doing anything over the long weekends next two weeks-family is far away-so maybe I can continue the basketball story then.  It has somehow wandered off into a direction I didn't want it to, my fantasy was the basketball net is only left out for a few minutes, stepdad's friend at the HOA sees it and calls stepdad at work as a friendly reminder about the rule, but stepdad gets him to print out a fake notice of a fine to make an excuse to spank the athlete undeservedly.  The friend thinks this is hilarious and asks if he can watch.  Evil tricksters make good spanking stories.  Unfortunately it now looks like the jock likes to get spanked and that's a different story.  I'm not sure how I plan to tell it now.

So here I couldn't decide between 3 different versions of the picture.  Above, the way I would usually do it, below, a rougher, darker and more painterly version, and at the bottom, a softer, slightly gauzy version.  Do you have a preference?  Does it even make a difference?  When you're making a picture you can have strong feelings about details others barely notice.

Paddling is such a routine part of men's lives in Dicksburg that when it's time to make a wager, a few licks across the backside seems like the natural medium of exchange.

The HOA and the Basketball Player

 At last.  This hiatus lasted 5 months and I can't get back into the Incident I was depicting but maybe I'll find the time and energy for that in the future.  Meanwhile a new story line if anyone's still out there...

Once again our hero is a tall, handsome, fit, unemployed graduate living with his stepdad.  This is a section of the population with whom I feel a tremendous sympathy and interest.  

Sorry for the delay-I haven't even replied to emails in a long while-but hopefully this story will provide some cheer and amusement to make up for it.

Domestic Discipline Cartoon

For whatever reason, I can't seem to muster much interest in Angelo's story right now.  I did however really enjoy painting this picture twice.  It's a development of a style I've long worked on and never felt satisfied with.  I do feel I'm getting better at it, but it's time consuming and involves endless tweaks and corrections.  

The subject matter is one that I've drawn since my teens, the adult stepson (older than me at that time!  I loved those hairy mid to late 20s guys and still do) under a man's hand, in a long, lateral composition intended to evoke calm and pleasant emotions.  I wouldn't mind telling stories in this style but I'd have to develop a simplified form of it because it takes too long.  Maybe I just need to get better at it, develop a systematic workflow and know when a picture is done, i.e. good enough.

A clean simple cartoon with pure colors, showing a relaxing afternoon or perhaps a stepdad (or father-in-law) recovering from a hard day at work by indulging in one of his favorite activities. 

And a crowded version that gives us more of a story, one of family tradition and adult stepsons spanked every Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, perhaps.  I hope someone enjoys these.  They were a pleasure to create, at any  rate.

Incidental question:  of the ancestral witnesses, which do you think is grandad and which is great grandad?

An Incident VII

 Well, I ended up having to work all weekend and progress has been limited (only one frame).  But I wanted to go ahead and load it since there's been such a delay.

Windows' last update made my main program (Poser 9) non-functional.  Curse those software nerds!  These were executed in Poser 11.  I had to fight it a little bit to get things set up, but it wasn't too bad.

Fortunately today is a holiday (in the US-Martin Luther King Jr Day) so I had some time to move our story along.

As a teen I had an extremely muscular gym coach who loved to paddle guys.  One time he gave me and some others one lick each with an unusually small paddle.  Our gym was a multipurpose room so it had a stage for assemblies, and he made us come up on stage, in the center of the stage, to be paddled in front of the rest of the class, not his usual procedure.  It didn't hurt a bit, but as soon as he'd paddled me, he said "Isn't it amazing how much that little thing stings?"  I mumbled something.  It was only years later I realized that meant he must've been paddled with it (probably by someone with technique superior to his).  I am absolutely sure those young paddle-happy coaches were spanking each other like a bunch of frat boys.  Knowing what I do now, this seems like the most natural thing in the world, but if I'd gotten to watch it at the time I'd have had an erection for the rest of my life!
